Congratulations for County Cup success to the Liskeard Girls Under 12s football team.
A 3-2 victory in the Cornwall County FA Final saw the Liskeard Girls Under 12s team make history as they became the first girls side from the town to win the prestigious county cup. Astonishingly, the team were only formed last summer, but their promising early attacks & obvious determination was too great for Truro, winners of the last league cup. The Truro team put up a good fight but with an opening goal by Ezme Wells from a Louise Smith corner and a second from Ezme, not to mention superb passes from Melissa Shepherd & Claudia Taylor. Truro were defeated when Eleanor Frew closed with her goal only four minutes from time. Following such an exhilarating game and a great success for the team, Coaches Ian Woodhouse & Adam Sibley are inviting similar talented players to join them in next year’s team.
